Skillshot Media and Ghost Gaming announce Make-A-Wish Georgia partnership
Esports production company Skillshot Media and North American esports organisation Ghost Gaming have partnered with the Georgia branch of not-for-profit foundation Make-A-Wish.
The partnership will see all three parties collaborate to grant wishes for children in the state.
According to Make-A-Wish, more children with critical illnesses are requesting wishes involving gaming and esports.
With the backing of Skillshot Media and Ghost Gaming, the foundation aims to grant the wishes in addition to spreading the ‘Gaming for Good’ message.
Ghost Gaming continues to support children located in Georgia through a range of initiatives. In February, it joined forces with youth esports league XP League to provide aspiring players with a chance to represent the organisation alongside opportunities to participate in development programmes and coaching sessions.
Make-A-Wish has activated in the gaming and esports space in the past. In 2012, the foundation partnered with game developer and publisher Riot Games and often works with content creators to grant wishes.
Alongside Ghost Gaming, Skillshot Media continues to support Atlanta’s esports industry. In 2022, it opened an esports and gaming hub in the Uptown Atlanta shopping centre, which acts as an academy and headquarters for Ghost Gaming.
Todd Harris, CEO of Skillshot Media and Ghost Gaming, spoke on the partnership: “I have seen firsthand the power of a wish to change lives, and the power of the gaming community to grant those wishes.
“We’re excited to use our platform and engaged community of millions to amplify the amazing work of Make-A-Wish Georgia in delivering hope to young people and their families.”
