Riot Games runs back Prime Gaming partnership – Esports Insider
Game developer Riot Games has renewed its partnership with Prime Gaming, the gaming branch of ecommerce company Amazon.
The multi-faceted deal will see Prime Gaming continue as a global sponsor for all Riot Games esports titles.
In addition to sponsoring League of Legends and VALORANT esports, Riot Games has named Prime Gaming the first global sponsor of the Teamfight Tactics (TFT) circuit. The two parties will collaborate to provide a range of free content available during events taking place throughout 2023.
Starting in March, Prime Gaming will offer a variety of exclusive in-game items for League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, League of Legends: Wild Rift and VALORANT. For TFT, the first content drop will commence in April.
Riot Games and Prime Gaming first collaborated in October 2021, announcing a year-long deal where Amazon’s gaming arm sponsored tournaments across the North American and EMEA regions.
Aside from event sponsorship and offering in-game content, Riot Games and Amazon are no strangers to collaborating. In December 2022, the two parties joined forces to host RE/LOAD, an end-of-year event celebrating the VALORANT community.
John Needham, President for Esports at Riot Games, spoke on the renewal and expansion: “Prime Gaming has been a longstanding partner for Riot, and we’re proud to share a mutual commitment toward providing deeper experiences that make it more rewarding to be a fan.
“We’re proud to have a partner like Prime Gaming supporting our broad fan base across LoL Esports, the VALORANT Champions Tour, and Teamfight Tactics.”
