VSPN Completes Acquisitions of Banana Gaming & Media – The Esports Observer


Chinese esports solutions provider VSPN (Versus Programming Network) announced Friday that it has completed its acquisition of Banana Gaming & Media. Financial terms of the acquisition deal were not available at the time of writing. 

VSPN said in its announcement that Banana Gaming & Media will retain its current operations and remain an independent subsidiary of the group. Banana Gaming & Media founder Sicong Wang will serve as the vice chairman of the group’s strategy committee.

Banana Gaming & Media has offices in Shanghai and Xi’an, China, and Seoul, South Korea. The company has been involved in such esports competitions for PUBG Mobile, Brawl Stars, FIFA 4 Online, and many other major esports titles.

In October of 2020, VSPN raised close to $100M USD in a Series B financing round led by Tencent Holdings, with participation from other investors including Tiantu Capital, SIG (Susquehanna International Group), and Kuaishou.

VSPN handles production for some of the biggest competitions in Asia including League of Legends Rift Rivals, King Pro League (KPL), and the PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) Global Finals.
