Mobile World Championship – The Esports Observer

Activision Publishing announced that it has canceled the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020 Grand Finals due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The event, which was scheduled to take place in Los Angeles later this month, would have marked the culmination of the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship tournament, which was structured in five stages.

The Grand Finals’ $750K USD prize pool will be equally distributed between the seven teams that qualified for the event through the Stage 4 Call of Duty: Mobile Regional Playoffs, including Tribe Gaming and T1.

Activision did not disclose how the cancelation impacts their deal with the tournament’s main sponsor Sony.
