Swedish Esports Platform Challengermode Appoints New CFO, CBDO – The Esports Observer


Swedish esports tournament management platform Challengermode announced the promotion of Philip Hübner to chief business development officer and the appointment of Dan-Alp Lindberg as its new chief financial officer.

In his new role, Hübner will work with the senior leadership team on the company’s overall growth plan, with a focus on developing partnerships, lead on potential mergers and acquisitions, and on building relationships with game publishers and developers. 

In his new role, Lindberg will spearhead efforts to grow revenue and manage risks, among other duties.

Hübner joined Challengermode in 2018 as head of business development & strategy. Prior to that, he worked as the head of marketing and business development at Italian esports organization QLASH

Lindberg joined the company in November 2018 as a non-executive director. Prior to joining Challengermode, Lindberg was the executive director of financial consulting services firm Lindberg Ventures and before that, CEO of Bostadskreditinstitutet ALMA.

In late August, Challengermode closed a $12M USD investment round led by the eWTP Innovation Fund, Alibaba Group’s global investment arm. The company signed a multi-year partnership with tournament organizer DreamHack in September 2019 for exclusive use of the company’s platform for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Dota 2, and PUBG tournaments.
