Compared to its performance in 2019, the Brazilian Free Fire League (LBFF) audience had an increase of 107% in 2020. LBFF matches added up to more than 60M views across YouTube, the pay-TV channel SporTV, and the Garena-owned streaming platform BOOYAH!, with approximately 349K simultaneous viewers per game versus 169K last year.

There were 12M total hours watched on YouTube. Stats for hours on BOOYAH! and SporTV were not available.

Garena’s battle royale game is wildly popular in Brazil due to its accessibility to the public. By investing mainly in the game, local organization LOUD became the first esports team in the world to reach 1B views on YouTube, while Brazilian Free Fire pro player and streamer Bruno “Nobru” Goes became the biggest streamer in the world in August. Twitch saw the potential of the scene and recently signed both the organization and the player to exclusive contracts.
