Premier League and EA Announce ePremier League Season Three – The Esports Observer｜home of essential esports business news and insights
English soccer league the Premier League and FIFA 21 publisher Electronic Arts announced the third season of ePremier League will launch in January. Registration for the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Global Series competition opens Dec. 3, with online qualifiers kicking off in January. Season three of the ePremier League will be operated by UK-based tournament organizer Gfinity.
Representatives for 20 clubs will compete to reach the online playoffs, followed by live finals in Spring 2020 (March or April – specific dates to be determined). Like last season, the finals will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, Premier League channels, and the EA SPORTS FIFA Twitch channel.
Competition is open to UK residents 16-years-old and over and will be played on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The winners will take home a trophy, a share of the £40K (roughly $54K USD) prize pool, and qualify for the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Global Series (FGS) European Playoffs.
