OpTic Chicago Partners With Zippo for Hand Warmer  – The Esports Observer|home of essential esports business news and insights

The Zippo HeatBank 9s is the official hand warmer of OpTic Chicago, the Pennsylvania-based lighter company announced today. The company’s hand warmer will be used by the Call of Duty League team “as they train for the next season of the Call of Duty League,” the company said.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The HeatBank 9s is available exclusively on Zippo’s online store and via OpTic players’ Twitch channels.

Zippo proclaimed its support for OpTic Chicago on Nov. 11 in a tweet, when the news broke that NRG Esports co-owner and CEO Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez had reacquired the OpTic Gaming brand from Immortals Gaming Club and that  the Chicago Huntsmen would be rebranded to OpTic Chicago. TEO first reported that Rodriguez was reacquiring the brand in October.

OpTic parent NRG already had a partnership in place with Zippo, that also included its Apex Legends team – a deal that was announced in November of 2019.

In 2018, Zippo partnered with fighting game-focused North American esports organization Panda Global.
